Vegan Ellen DeGeneres Offers Lady Gaga A Veggie Dress

Let’s face it—Lady Gaga’s Japanese Vogue meat bikini and MTV VMAs meat dress were pretty unappetizing. Even Ellen DeGeneres, who’s vegan, thought so. So when the talk show host sat down with the multiple moon man winner for the season premiere of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (which taped last night), she offered Gaga an alternative outfit made of kale and broccoli. Grab the ranch dressing and watch below!

“It is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian,” Gaga explained on Ellen’s program about the dress. “As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth. However, it has many interpretations. For me, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”

Gaga also discussed her reasons for bringing four members of Servicemembers Legal Defense Network with her on the MTV white carpet last night before the awards show. (They were, per CNN, former West Point cadet Katie Miller, who resigned in August to protest the policy; and former U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. David Hall, former U.S. Air Force Major Mike Almy and former U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Stacy Vasquez, who were all discharged.)

“[Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell] is a law that violates so much of what we stand [for] as a generation,” Gaga said. “It is a devastation to me that I know my fans who are gay, who feel like bad kids—they feel like they have oppression, governmental oppression on them.”
