Far be it for Jennifer Lopez to be free of rumors involving the onetime musical hitmaker/box office draw’s rampant divadom. And as the is-she-or-isn’t-she factor regarding her supposed ascension to the American Idol judges table heats up, one things seems sure: her love may not cost a thing, but according to Deadline.com, getting her to park her famous butt on the Idol set sure does.

As the site has it, J-Lo wasn’t just looking for a multi-million dollar price tag ($15 mill to be exact) for her judging duties. “Among J-Lo’s demands, ‘she was angling for an overall deal at Fox, including a put picture, to keep the movie career going. But Fox said no,’ one insider tells me,” writes Deadline’s Nikki Finke.

An alleged bargaining chip Lopez’s manager Benny Medina had was that Simon Cowell asked Jennifer to be a part of his upcoming U.S. version of The X Factor.

“I’m told that J-Lo and Fields did receive the overall Fox deal but with no film/TV commitments,” Finke continues. “Medina and JLo tried to hold out for the $15M Idol paycheck but couldn’t get it and wound up settling for $12M.”

Meanwhile, TMZ has a completely contradictory report up today titled “Someone’s Sabotaging American Idol“:

“There have been a number of stories about Lopez’s alleged ‘diva demands’—that she’s demanding way too much money and insisting on movie deals—but we’re told the negotiations have actually been ‘normal.’  We’re told there is a movie component to the deal—as well as the possibility of other TV projects—but the centerpiece has always been Idol. Our sources say it’s all but a done deal … and that Lopez will be at the judge’s table next week for AI auditions.”

Poor J-Lo. Can’t a girl just make an eight-figure paycheck without all the hatin’? After all, this is the diva who once so proudly declared “I’m Real.”
