Cee-Lo washes his mouth out with soap and goes super clean in the midtempo soul tune “I Want You.” Although we’re sure C-L doesn’t want to be known as the guy who curses in all his songs, we’d argue that this generic 60s throwback is a bit too safe. It’s a low-key little number—reminds us of Raphael Saadiq, who also records Motown with a modern twist, but with Cee-Lo’s deep bass on vocals. To be honest, though, it’s a bit of a letdown after the way we instantly fell in love with “Fuck You“. Still, the man can’t make a bad song.
