C Is For Censored. Due to parental outrage over a preview clip that spread ’round the web this week, Katy Perry’s cameo on Sesame Street—in which she chases Elmo around with barely any material covering her well-endowed assetts—has been cut from the PBS show’s New Year’s Eve broadcast.

Perry told Entertainment Weekly in an interview over the summer that being featured on the show was “the highlight of my entire career”. She also noted that she is well aware that her songs may not be entirely suited for children. Says Katy:

“I think some of these songs, even though sometimes they have a naughty dimension to them, they are so pop infectious it gets into kids, just like whatever parents are saying around the house will get into kids,” she said. “And I love that ‘Hot N Cold’ could translate to Sesame Street. I just love that. I’m gonna have kids someday, and I love that some pop star out there is gonna change their lyrics to make my kids bounce in their diapers.”

Although she must be a little disappointed her Elmo-tweaked song won’t appear on the show’s 41st season, Perry doesn’t seem to be sulking too much: “Wow, looks like my play date with Elmo has been cut short!” she tweeted, adding that the clip is still hosted on her website. Looks like each and every small child’s innocence has been saved. Job well done, angry parents with nothing better to do.
