We’re a touch upset that Ryan Murphy didn’t find a PG way to sneak in Britney Spears’ “If You Seek Amy” into next week’s “Britney/Brittany” episode of Glee. Ah well — least we have five other Brit classics to look forward to (and none of them are “I Love Rock And Roll“, thankfully). Listen to a medley of the Gleeked-out Spears tracks below. And surprise! Not all of the songs are from the Britney songbook.
Glee Cast - Britney Spears Medley
We’ve got a slightly altered cover of “Toxic”, “Baby… One More Time” as sung by Lea Michele, Artie powering through “Stronger”, Heather Morris finally getting the spotlight on “Slave 4 U” and “Me Against The Music” (and are those Britney’s vocals on Madonna’s part?), and Lea singing… a Paramore song?!
What the heck is Paramore’s “The Only Exception” doing in the Britney Spears episode? The Brand New Eyes track is the highest-charting song from the band (peaking at #24 on the Hot 100), and it’s still gaining steam. But why feature it during a Britney-themed episode when there are tons of other Brit ballads to choose from? (How about “Sometimes”, as lip-synched by Snooki?) Oh, Ryan Murphy, we’ll never fully understand the method to your madness.
In any case, congrats Paramore! You made it on Glee! Although your song “Misery Business”, which already had a music video set in a high-school, may have been the stronger pick.
Check out a promo for next week’s “Britney/Brittany” extravaganza below. We certainly hope this isn’t the end to Heather Morris’ dim-bulbed character having her own episode.

I love Paramore and also Glee, but what the heck is doing paramore song at the end of a britney episode??? well, we’ll never understand it
ok at least the song is in good hands
I agree! Seems completely out of place.
Q: “What the heck is Paramore’s ‘The Only Exception’ doing in the Britney Spears episode?”
A: Because IT is The Only Exception!
Well said.
I agree!
Lol can’t wait to see what happens!
