Katy Perry Does A Latex Catwalk In Her ‘CBS News’ Profile

Katy Perry was interviewed and profiled on CBS News, and the sit-down touched on everything from Katy’s early career as a gospel singer, her romance with Russell Brand (whom she still calls her “boyfriend” despite a randy Bachelorette party proving she is indeed engaged), and even included a sneak preview of the photoshoot for her perfume line, Purr. “I don’t know quite where to put this thing, I’ve never had a tail,” Perry explains to CBS’ Anthony Mason while wearing a latex catsuit during the shoot. Me-ow, that outfit has got to chafe. Watch Katy’s introspective 10-minute profile below.

Although she’s known to wear kooky, quirky outfits on red carpets and to awards shows, Katy says that people shouldn’t be quick to judge that she’s all whip-cream bras and no substance. “You can’t just change your dress or change your hair. That can’t be the basis of success. It has to spawn from something more powerful, and that has to be talent.”

Perry also shares her wishes to, quite literally, go out with a bang: “When I pass, as all pop stars pass, I don’t want to be buried, because I think that’s boring. I would like to be put in a firework and then shot across this ocean… as my last hurrah!”

Kind of makes Perry’s “Firework” pop song a bit more morbid, no? Still, that’s one explosive memorial she’s envisioning (that will no doubt be scored by Dr. Luke).
