Kanye West Rolls On With G.O.O.D Fridays And Drops “Christian Dior Denim Flow”

October 2nd, 2010 // 3 Comments

Yes, there are three months to go in 2010, but we’re calling it now: Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Fridays series might just be the smartest (and most generous) project by anyone in music this year. In the course of several weeks, ‘Ye has created a string of jams that have neatly set up his album while repairing his karma at the same time. Why stop? After deciding to skip this week in response to unauthorized leaks from his album, Kanye tweeted last night that “real hip-hop fans” deserved a new track, and that he would deliver.

Listen to the fashion-conscious “Christian Dior Denim Flow” below. Damn, they don’t make ‘em like this anymore…

Kanye posted this one a little late, but hey — he’s been busy preparing for his Saturday Night Live appearance. In fact, he stayed up so late working on this one that he kind of overslept.

The track kicks off with a voice directing “All the models to the floor right now” before Kanye drops a verse that name-checks every model from Veronica Webb to Doutzen Kroes. (See the full lyrics and model photos if you need help keeping them all straight). Kanye’s jam this week includes a typically impressive array of stars (Legend, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Lloyd Banks and Ryan Leslie) but departs from the earlier G.O.O.D. Fridays tracks by adding an extended drum solo midway through, and a blazing electric guitar line to take it home.

We’ll be honest. We hope this never ends.
