Though we’ve come to believe that Kanye West is a wiser, more reflective person in the last year, we’re still never quite sure what’s going to happen when he gets near live television cameras. Which is why we couldn’t wait to see him return to SNL, the very show he blasts in his marching single “Power”. (Why was he upset with the show and its cast? Could’ve been the three different times they’ve mocked him). It seemed the tension hadn’t totally lifted: Even Kanye seemed to feel a little “Akwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard”.
But he did exactly what you’re supposed to do on live television: create unforgettable moments. Funny how that’s become such a problem for the show’s cast, though, huh? Watch him rock “Power” (with a new verse!) and “Runaway” against a stunning white backdrop on the SNL set below:
For “Power”, Kanye created a modified version of the song’s video.

For “Runaway”, Kanye began with the dancers in shadow before launching into the song, with backup from his G.O.O.D. Friday cohort Pusha T.
Kanye West — “Runaway”:
Let’s have a toast to Kanye’s performance, shall we? Even SNL alums approved. Did you?

AWESOME!
Hell to the NO… what was SNL thinking..
It’s ok to be an out-of-control, substance abusing, foaming-at-the-mouth ass simply because you can recite poetry to drumbeats?
Think of all the things the little people could get away with if they knew all they had to do was just lay low for a few months and then have a publicist put forth an ‘apology’.
This was sick and stupid…. I changed the channel as soon as I heard his name.
Ummmmm not that serious @Mr Miller.
Kanye West is a musical genius that is human. I’m pretty sure U have either met, befriended or are even related to someone who has made bad @$$ decisions & acted out stupidly. Heck you may have been that person at one point. Why can’t he be the same? The only difference is he has millions of people witness his stupidity @ times all at once. We however maybe repremanded in the comfort of our social circle. N-E ways, it’s just a skit so, build a bridge & ride the heck over it on that high horse you’re ridding. Only God can judge.
Pure brilliance! I love Kanye’s performance of Power. Understated yet powerful!
It’s so unusual to ever describe an SNL musical performance as “beautiful,” “ethereal,” “thought-provoking,” or “mind-blowing,” but all of those words authentically reflect Kanye’s set on Saturday night. It was more visually interesting than any TV performance I’ve seen in a long, long time. I personally like the “Runaway” performance more, but I felt like both were jaw-dropping. Leave it to Kanye to take a TV promo gig and turn it into a work of art. I never thought I’d see Kanye on SNL again after that original verse, but I’m so glad it happened.
.!. SHUT UP!
KANYE IS THE BEST ARTIST IN THE WORLD.
SHE MADE GREATS PERFORMANCES (VISUALS)
I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHO CAN ANYBODY DON’T LIKE IT!
REALLY… I CAN’T UNDERSTAND!
THIS WAS STUNNING!
PLEASE!
SAY THE TRUE, PLEASE!
Apparently you don’t understand English either? Which is probably why you can’t understand how terrible Kanye West is.
beautiful,” “ethereal,” “thought-provoking,” or “mind-blowing…You can’t be serious ?
The set…the set up…visuals were awesome. The music, The vocals, mostly off key with no sense of flow or artistry. The whole thing was very stiff and unrehearsed.
KANYE IS A HILARIOUS JOKE. The fool will die unsatisfied because he has a serious case of “its all about me”
