Virtual band Gorillaz appeared live in the flesh at New York’s Ed Sullivan Theatre last night for both a stint on the Late Show With David Letterman and a concert that appeared online via webcast. Particularly comical was the way Dave riffed on the group as they began warming up just before they launched into their Plastic Beach tune “Rhinestone Eyes.” Poor Damon Albarn was left looking like a deer in headlights when he realized that the cameras had indeed been rolling for about 15 seconds, catching their quick soundcheck.
Gorillaz are currently on the road with N.E.R.D. The “Feed Me Remix” of their song “On Melancholy Hill” appears on the forthcoming Vampire Diaries soundtrack.
