The 2010 American Music Awards have been announced, and this year it’s looking like it’s going to be the Eminem and Lady Antebellum show. Both the newsworthy, tracksuit-loving rapper and the top-selling country trio nabbed five nominations apiece. Just behind them is concert draw Justin Bieber, who was singled out in four categories (including Artist Of The Year and Favorite Male Artist). Smooth crooner Usher and dance-pop diva Ke$ha were recognized in three categories.
And as for Adam Lambert, who drew media fire and FCC complaints after his controversial AMAs performance last year—well, he didn’t snag a single nomination. See who’s up for awards this year after the jump.

Aw thanks for the Adam Lambert namecheck, but LOL not exactly a surprise to his fans, there was rare consensus on this issue across almost all fangroups that the AMAs were unlikely to let Adam anywhere near their show this year. Best of luck to all the nominees though!
How is Eminem Pop and how is Rihanna’s music Soul/ R&B.. ? I love Rihanna but her music is not R&B. Why have different categories if your going to nominate the same people in each one? Adam Lambert is more of a breakthrough artist then Mike Posner. Even if this goes by sales only Lambert sold more then Posner.

(1) The AMAs are like the “People’s Choice Awards” for music – it’s about hype, not quality of music or quality of the artist. It never has been. I mean… Ke$ha? Bieber? Seriously? If they didn’t have money behind them getting them airplay and tons of press nobody would think they were worthy of being nominated for anything.
(2) Adam Lambert hasn’t set the American music world on fire, despite the media’s infatuation with his stage act. Lots of press, lots of publicity, but the public’s response has been lukewarm. He’s not the “people’s choice” so he’s not getting an AMA nod.
Adam did get nominated for the Peoples Choice Break-Out Musical Artist award.
+ He has a GOLD record + he has two hit singles (Platinum & Gold) + his mostly sold out nation and international tour! That shows me a large amount of the public likes him.
He has haters but also a massive amount of supporters.
And at this time I was mainly comparing him to Mike Posner who I think has less buzz & success then Adam :-)
