‘Glee’ Halloween Costume: A How-To Guide
Pop stars and outrageous outfits go hand in hand, which makes it oh-so easy to dress up as one for Halloween. But although the costume choices might be perfect for your night of spooky partying, there’s just too many to choose from! That’s why we’ve decided to help all of you out and handpick the most iconic ensembles from the last year of pop and give you some tips on how to recreate them. Just save us a fun-size Snickers bar from your trick-or-treat bag as thanks.
Today, we’ll walk you through three different ways to represent William McKinley High School’s biggest personalities! Scroll through our Glee Costume Guide below to add a real musical element to any Halloween party. Just make sure you don’t sing any original music!
Sue Sylvester:
What you’ll need:
- an Adidas track suit in the solid color of your choosing
- a no nonsense blonde hairdo
- a megaphone
- a laundry list of insults and snarky remarks to use on your “victims” throughout the night
- Bonus: walk around with a fake Emmy from one of those Hollywood souvenir shops
Rachel Berry:
What you’ll need:
- school girl skirt, knee high socks and flats
- a conservative, preppy blouse paired with a cardigan that makes you look like a grandmother and a toddler at the same time
- barrettes for your perfectly straightened hair — add some bangs for a Season 2 Rachel look
- belt out into songs for no reason, preferably those by Barbra Streisand
- you’ll know you’re pulling off that certain Rachel Berry charm if you’re emitting equal parts superiority and insecurity
Mr. Schuester:
What you’ll need:
- a vest or sweater vest
- button down shirt
- ultra preppy pants
- lots of hair gel
- to go that extra mile, burst into rap periodically through out the night and assign people lame assignments
If dressing as the cast of Glee feels off-key to you, perhaps Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Justin Bieber or Katy Perry is more in your range. No matter what costume you choose, make sure you party like a pop star this Halloween.
