Willow Smith Schools Us All On How To Whip Our Hair

Forget the fact that at age 9, Willow Smith is already more well-spoken than a lot of us will ever be (marvel at her MTV Extended Play interview below)—the “Whip My Hair” pop tartlet is also a pretty engaging instructor! After listing her favorite musicians to a MTV interviewer (Lady Gaga, Billy Idol, Beyonce and her parents, naturally), she then whips up the sass factor by teaching her hair-whipping moves. Work.

That hand movement. The hair shake. The “two snaps and a ‘W’.” Willow Smith, we so need to hang out!

Love how serious she gets when explaining what a warrior is and discussing her punk rock style. International fashion maven Willow already comes across as being twice as engaging and more savvy than half the artists in the charts these days—and “Whip My Hair” isn’t even available to purchase yet! (The single hits iTunes next week.)

Our favorite quote from pint-sized Smith comes at the beginning of the one-on-one, when she’s asked what it was like being signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label: “It felt like all the hard work paid off.”

Yeah. It really is strenuous being 9.
