Nelly And Kelly Rowland Pair Up Again For “Dilemma” Sequel “Gone”

In 2002, Nelly and the hot and complex Kelly Rowland spent a whopping 10 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 with their lovey-dovey jam “Dilemma.” Now “Gone,” the pair’s sequel to the tune, has surfaced ahead of the release of Nelly’s 5.0 (out November 16, when it will go head-to-head with Rihanna’s Loud and Pink’s Greatest Hits…So Far!!!) So are the sparks between these two still flying? Listen below. “Remember the chick that used to live right up the block from me, I seen her yesterday and she’s still fly, she’s still right, still tight, still fine,” Nelly sings as the song begins, setting up the arc from “Dilemma” to here.

This new slow groove is harmless enough, and even boasts a similar beat to its predecessor. But overall, we can’t help feeling that, since they bothered, these two should have come up with something a little better than a pale retread.

Perhaps Ms. Rowland sums the whole affair up best when she sings, “I’d do it all again if I had to, you ain’t gotta ask, boo.”

Did she really have to, though?
