English songstress Adele told us that “Rolling In The Deep”, the Wanda Jackson-inspired first single from her new album, could be described as “gospel disco”, and when you watch her perform it live, you see exactly what she means. Adele rolled out the tune for The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, and — from her impassioned vocals to the handclap breakdown — she rode the steady beat while serving up a refreshingly cold dish of revenge. Watch below.
We imagine Adele (a country music fan who told us she’s wild about Lady Antebellum) was elated that her favorite Nashville act scored all those Grammy nominations. (Remember, Adele actually beat Lady Antebellum to win the Grammy for Best New Artist two years ago). But we’re thinking Adele’s new album, 21, just may have some award-worthy tunes of its own, and she’s headed for a big 2011.
What did you think of her performance?

She’s amazing and I’m glad she’s getting recognition over here.
What a voice,. Excellent Performance, Beautiful Song
i love the effortless quality with which adele sings with. she has a voice i could and have listened to everyday.
her voice is sick…i loved chasing pavements but I think this may be my favorite song of hers

I like the song a lot. i think it sheds a new light on what most people consider pop music. It sends a positive message that you don’t have to be Brittney Spears or Lady Gaga to have a hit pop song. The production of the song is my favorite part of the track, the little thinks about it make it special. But not to be out-shined, Adele voice is nice as well.
