Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn has revealed that the group’s upcoming iPad album will be called The Fall, after the season in which it was created. “I wrote it in October,” Albarn told radio station Triple J. “I didn’t want to call it October because U2 had already used that. Although I like the word October, I like the month, I like the feeling.”

Albarn also revealed that Gorillaz (whose Plastic Beach scored a coveted spot on our 10 Out Of ’10 year-end list) will be taking a backseat for a bit so that he can work on “on a piece for the Manchester International Festival about Elizabethan occult philosophy.”

Gorillaz fan club members can download The Fall for free on Christmas Day, and you can become a member for $45. So basically, their album written in one month on an iPad will cost you almost almost fifty bucks. Maybe put Gorillaz fan club membership on your Xmas list?
