Following his appearance on Katy Perry’s Grammy-nominated hit “California Gurls,” Snoop Dogg continues his lyrical love affair with the Golden State—or, more specifically, Los Angeles—on new jam “El Lay.” Take a ride with the Doggfather through the City of Angels below. Snoop released the track as a free download via his Twitter account yesterday, stating “bout 2 drop new song ‘El Lay’ to celebrate the NBA all stars coming to tha Dogg’s town…” One would assume the smooth tune will appear on upcoming album Doggumentary Music, alongside the royally raunchy “Wet” and the more romantic cut “New Year’s Eve.”

Marty James pays tribute to L.A. while crooning the anthem-like chorus (guess we’ve only hit the tip of the iceberg with the region-themed jams following the success of “Empire State Of Mind”), while Snoop tosses out verses this: “Purple and gold, homey, let the story be told / This the city where they shoot your favorite television episode.”

Doggumentary Music is due out March 8.
