Usher Loses His Voice, Cancels Concert Halfway Through

Usher’s European leg of his OMG tour isn’t off to a great start. While performing his 2004 song “Lovers and Friends” at the 02 World Arena in Berlin, a very sick Ush realizes his voice is completely shot. Instead of making fans endure a subpar performance, he drops the mic, waves to the audience, and walks off stage. The crowd was not happy, and booed the singer as he walked off. Hey, a few boos from the crowd sure beats getting kicked in the face. Live video below of the incident.

Well, at least we now know he’s singing live, as evidenced by his inability to sing.

Usher had canceled his first Berlin tour stop 45 minutes after opener Tiny Tempah had already performed his opening set. We assume he thought he could make it through the replacement date after a good night of rest, but he could only make it through a handful of songs without shutting the place down.

The R&B singer released a statement via his Twitter, telling fans, “I am truly sorry to all my fans in Berlin who were inconvenienced by tonight’s postponement of the show. I was ill and felt that I would not have been able to give the show that you all properly deserve.”

The show is rescheduled for January 13 at the 02 World in Berlin. We’ll see if third time’s the charm for both him and his fans. Feel better, Ush!
