Ellie Goulding Shows Her True Colors In Her “Lights” Video

Jolly good news for American fans of Brit Award-nominated songstress Ellie Goulding — her debut LP Lights is getting a U.S. release on March 8, via the Cherrytree imprint (Lady Gaga, La Roux, Robyn) of Interscope. The stateside version will feature three tracks that were added to the Bright Lights UK re-release of the LP last year: “Your Song,” “Animal” and the (sorta) title track, “Lights.” Catch the gorgeous video for the Richard Stannard-produced “Lights” above.

While we’re still playing catch-up with Ellie here in the States, “Lights” is actually her sixth single released across the pond. The video finds the singer, who’s up for both British Female Solo Artist and Breakthrough Act at the 2011 BRITs, playing instruments, singing and dancing around among a spectacular display of — you guessed it — lights.

“Lights” is currently available domestically on the An Introduction To Ellie Coulding iTunes EP. Ellie’s previous single overseas, a cover of Elton John’s “Your Song”, peaked at #2 on the UK chart in December.

Last year Goulding was singled out for the Critics’ Choice Award at the BRITs, an honor Jessie J has clinched this time around.

Is she finally about to turn on America? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments.
