Last month Nick Cannon coyly sort-of-but-not-really let news slip that he and wife Mariah Carey are expecting twins, and now Life & Style finally gives Planet Pop the confirmation that the pair have both a boy and a girl on the way. Well, again—sort of. Deduce what you will from the publication’s exclusive quotes about Mimi’s supposed impending bambino and bambina below. “It’s all about pink and blue these days,” a friend of the couple tells Life & Style. “It’s truly going to be a dream come true for them. They get a son and daughter.” And just who is this friend? Well, the mag’s site doesn’t say.

Then there’s this quote from mommy-to-be Mariah: “Even before we announced it was twins, I was trying to keep everything genderneutral because I didn’t want to impose an identity on them too soon. There were fan contests on Twitter about what gender they are and rumors about them being two boys or two girls — but nobody guessed this!”

Well, that seems to indicate that the couple is expecting one of each. At least if that’s the case, then we’re one step closer to having the question posed here answered.
