Anderson Cooper Tries To Probe Lady Gaga On ’60 Minutes’

Much like when he dug deep into the life of Eminem on 60 Minutes last fall, silver-haired journo Anderson Cooper attempted to sift for revealing facts while profiling Lady Gaga. The special aired last night just before the Grammys, where the “Born This Way” songstress scooped up statues for Pop Vocal Album, Pop Vocal Performance and Best Short Form Music Video. Watch Anderson’s one-on-one with the self-proclaimed Master Of The Art Of Fame below. While speaking of Gaga on the program, Cooper boldly claimed, “Her imagery may remind you of Madonna, but her imagery is more outrageous.” Yikes! Sounds like Anderson might be in for a material world of hurt next time he bumps into Madge!

Mostly the Grammy winner spoke about her outfits, and how she uses them to distract the public (and Anderson Cooper) from prying into her personal life. “I’m a true academic when it comes to music and when it comes to my style, my fashion,” said The Gaga. “There’s always some sort of a story or some concept I’m telling.”

Hmmm. Perhaps she was re-telling Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, then, when she arrived at the Grammys last night?

One juicy tidbit came when Lady Gaga said while she gave up cocaine, she admits to still smoking pot when she writes music. Hey—at least she’s honest. In fact, she went on to note, “What artists do wrong is they lie.”

Here’s Gaga’s 60 Minutes special. Do you think it gives an accurate portrayal of who she really is?
