As mentioned yesterday, Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” was pretty much on track to become the historic 1000th #1 single on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. And now it’s official, reports the publication—”Born This Way” will lead the new Hot 100 published tomorrow after moving 448,000 downloads over the weekend (the song was only released last Friday). This gives Gaga a grand total of three #1 hits in the States, following “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” See what landed on top of the album chart after the jump. The 37th installment of the NOW That’s What I Call Music hits compilation series debuts at #1 on the Top 200 this week with sales of 151,000. Billboard notes that it’s the first #1 album in 2011 to sell more than 100,000 copies. (You may recall recent dismal sales weeks when Taylor Swift, Cake and Amos Lee all took turns at the top.)

Meanwhile, with the release of Justin Bieber’s box office hit Never Say Never last Friday comes added interest in his musical output. My World 2.0 jumps 15 positions this week to #3, while fall release My Worlds Acoustic moves up from #47 to #10. Billboard also mentions that the first My World album moves up 61 positions to #39.

Getting back to the Hot 100, do you think Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” is a worthy single to clinch the 1000th #1 on the chart? Let us know, and be sure to also check out Billboard‘s chronological list of all 1000 #1s since the Hot 100 began in 1958.
