Take That have followed up their Progress single “The Flood” with the bombastic “Kidz” in the UK. The music video finds the BRIT Award-winning man band acting as warriors from outer space whose ship arrives in the Earth’s atmosphere. Consider this the second sci fi-themed clip of the day, following Lady Gaga’s far out “Born This Way.” Watch below.
Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams & Co. are confronted by the military when they descend from their ship (the aptly-titled “Progress”). But just when it seems the musically-inclined space vikings are about to come under fire, a small boy takes their picture with a Polaroid camera, and the gathered crowd begins to jump up and dance around.
The That consider their mission to be accomplished and jet back off to space.
Like with “The Flood,” Barlow does vocals on the chorus of “Kidz” while another Take That member—this time Mark Owen—handles the verses.
So far the single has peaked at #28 on the UK chart. Maybe the video (which was shot in Bulgaria) will help them beam up a few positions higher?

If only they would invade the freaking United States already.
Sigh, I am going to have to emigrate for them, aren’t I?
Amazing. And honestly, it is going to be tough for them to have high charting singles considering everyone pop-inclined, and their dog, in the UK seem to have purchased the album already…
Agree! It’s strange Take That 2.0 haven’t bothered once trying to crack the U.S. again.
i’m still trying to figure out the whole take that being “take that” again after nearly 20 years.
It is completely bizarre – it’s like a total blackout…I tell people about them and they are interested but can’t even get them on iTunes. Something ought to be done.
Well, I think it’s great you’re doing your part covering them, here, at least.
