Our Britney Spears Non-Top 20 Poll: Which Single Should Have Been A Bigger Hit?

On the new Hot 100 chart published by Billboard today, Britney Spears achieved her milestone 15th Top 20 U.S. hit with “Till The World Ends,” which debuted at #20. But that got us thinking about all the classic Britney jams that didn’t quite land as high. We know all the words and can probably bust the dance moves from many of the videos, but they’re still singles that failed to crack the Top 20. We’ve rounded up a choice selection, so head below to vote for which Spears song you think deserved to chart higher than it actually did on the Hot 100! Yes, we’re surprised, too, when we look back on pop history and realize that quotable Britney‘s second single “Sometimes” only made it to #21, and “I’m A Slave For You” stalled at #27. Heck, even her pair-up with Madonna, “Me Against The Music”—a #1 hit in several countries and on the U.S. dance chart—only scraped its way to #35 on the Hot 100.

Of course, all of the above were released in that dodgy period where American labels had all but killed off CD singles, and the iTunes store had yet to come into play with regards to how the charts were configured. (In fact, the iTunes store didn’t exist when “Sometimes,” “Lucky” and “Slave” were released.)

So vote away on which of the below singles you feel deserved to be a bigger hit than it was on the Hot 100. (We’ve included the actual chart placing beside each song title.)
