Simon Cowell Appoints His First Official ‘X Factor’ Judge — L.A. Reid
Finally, we get some official word on who will be judging alongside Simon Cowell on the U.S. edition of The X Factor. Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid will reportedly join the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He may also be let out of his contract with Universal early so he can nab a new position over at Sony Music. As far as music producers go, he’s as big as it gets, but let’s hope he has more advice than telling contestants, “You’ll be a pop star / All you have to change is everything you are.”
