During his Good Morning America appearance this morning to promote new album F.A.M.E., Chris Brown was repeatedly asked questions about Rihanna by host Robin Roberts. “It’s not really a big deal to me now, as far as that situation,” Brown said early in the one-on-one, trying to change the subject. “I think I’m past that in my life, and I think today is the album day. So that’s what I’m focused on.” But the subject didn’t change, and now TMZ is reporting Brown had a violent outburst behind the scenes afterward. When Roberts brought the topic back to Rihanna, and how some people perceive him now, Brown responded very pointedly by saying, “I think this album is what I want people to hear and what I want people to get into. So definitely this album is what I want them to talk about, not stuff that happened two years ago.”

Now TMZ is reporting that Chris Brown went into his dressing room, began screaming and supposedly smashed a chair into a window:

“We’re told after the interview, Brown freaked out, storming into his dressing room and screaming so loud, the people in hair and makeup became alarmed and called security. We’re told Brown was out of control, and one source present tells us he smashed a window in his dressing room, and the glass shattered and some shards fell onto 43rd and Broadway. ABC security tells TMZ … the window was shattered with a chair.”

TMZ goes on to note that next Brown allegedly stormed out of the building shirtless and into Times Square. He was said to be scheduled to do a performance for ABC’s website, which he apparently blew off.

In a follow-up report on the incident, TMZ claims that network sources told the site Roberts got the okay from Chris Brown to ask a few questions about Rihanna before the interview was taped.

Currently, F.A.M.E. is the #1 album on iTunes, ahead of today’s other new releases from The Strokes, Jennifer Hudson and Green Day. Brown’s single “Look At Me Now” is #5 on iTunes, as well.
