David Cook Reveals Lyrics To New Single “The Last Goodbye”

One of our favorite American Idol winners ever (who thankfully did not suffer from the indifference of the voting public), David Cook, has been hard at work finishing up his sophomore album, and today he revealed the lyrics to his brand new single, “The Last Goodbye”. Though we have yet to hear the music for the breakup song, we’re already feeling a little sniffly. David’s handwritten lyrics below.

“I didn’t want to lose you / Leave you with a broken heart / But wherever we are, we’re miles apart / I know that we tried, But this is the last goodbye / Oh, I didn’t want to let you go / But wherever we are, we’re miles apart / I know that we tried, But this is the last goodbye.”

We’re not crying, we just have something in our eye…
