When all of the lights were turned up at Coachella‘s main stage Sunday night for the festival’s twisted, beautiful headline act, Kanye West himself was nowhere to be seen. Instead, fans were treated to a frenzied dance performance by a battery of “Runaway”-style dancers, who finally bowed down to a carved stone backdrop. West finally emerged, not from backstage, but atop a crane that stretched over the crowd as he proceeded to lead fans through a triumphant performance of “Power”, “Dark Fantasy”, “Hell Of A Life” and other jams from his acclaimed My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (as well as his whole back catalog). West prowled the stage amid a dazzling light show — all while backed with a killer band that included ace producer and keyboardist Jeff Bhasker.
“It feels like tonight is the best night of my life”, West said as he paused for a moment during “Good Life”.
And we believed him.

kanye west was great/full of energy as always. funny thing is, during the live-stream via youtube, channel 2 featuring “she wants revenge” had to end early due to technical difficulties. VERY SAD for those fans. but imagine if that was kanye west’s stream…i guess it could have been worse.
when they say headline they mean it – no one had as much stuff going on-stage as kanye west. dances, fireworks, a light show, things that airlifted him around the stage. pretty over-the-top stuff but still pretty damn entertaining.
