Lonely Island’s ‘Turtleneck & Chain’ Track List Features Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj & Rihanna
Weird Al might have some stiff competition for funniest album of the year. For their sophomore album Turtleneck & Chain, the class clowns of The Lonely Island recruited some of music’s biggest names: Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Beck, Nicki Minaj, Santigold, Akon, Snoop Dogg, and the one, the only, Michael Bolton. That’s almost as many celebrities as there are in the Beastie Boys’ latest clip! Check out the full track list of the double disc CD/DVD below.
Besides many of the digital shorts performed on Saturday Night Live, the LP also includes songs like “Japan” (oof — possible bad timing for that one?), “Trouble On Dookie Island” (Green Day tribute? Yeah, probably not) and “Jack Sparrow”, featuring Michael Bolton. We like to imagine Bolton wearing an eye patch and some guyliner while recording in the studio.
And although the Rihanna/Andy Samberg collab “Shy Ronnie 2: Ronnie & Clyde” makes the cut, the group curiously left off the original “Shy Ronnie”. It was even nominated for an Emmy! We have to wonder why they didn’t throw that one on the already lengthy track list.
