Till The World Ends: 10 Pop Songs To Prepare You For Judgment Day

According to several Christian groups who like to make signs and billboards, this Saturday May 21, 2011 signals the end of the world. If they turn out to be right about Judgment Day, we’re going to be pretty bummed — we’ll only have gotten halfway through Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga’s episode of Saturday Night Live before Armageddon finishes its destruction of planet Earth — but at least we’ll have some pretty sweet tunes to rock out to while we’re saying our final goodbyes. Behold Idolator’s A-pop-alypse Playlist below, and go out with a pop as well as a bang.

Britney Spears – “Till The World Ends”. We want to party with Britney if it’s the last thing we do on Earth.

R.E.M. – “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)”. Obvious, but the quintessential end-of-days song.

Blondie – “Rapture”

The Rapture – “Pieces Of The People We Love”. Because when the world blows up, you’ll be seeing pieces of the people you love. All over the place.

Smashing Pumpkins – “The End Is The Beginning Is The End”

Europe – “The Final Countdown”. GOB Bluth would approve.

“Jesus Walks” – Kanye West. It’s the second coming of Christ, after all.

Aerosmith – “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”. Hey, it was in Armageddon, it counts.

Swedish House Mafia – “Save The World.” A new video, out just in time!

“Sunday Morning” – No Doubt. Because, and please allow us to be blunt – you’re an idiot if you actually believe the human race isn’t going to make it to Sunday morning.
