Taylor Swift raises a racket in the library in the just-released music video for “The Story Of Us”, the latest toe-tapper from Speak Now. If you dug the dork-chic glasses look that T-Swift rocked in “You Belong With Me”, then you’ll love the CoverGirl‘s “Bookworm Couture” getup in this vid. Wearing a cute prep school uniform, Taylor (who wrote this jam about her ups and downs of her relationship with John Mayer) wrestles with post-breakup trauma between the stacks. Just don’t try the Billboard Music Award winner‘s dance moves in your in your local library. “The story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now,” according to the lyrics. But does it end that way? Watch below.

The last song Taylor wrote for Speak Now, “The Story Of Us” is clearly a fan favorite, based on the response it received at her live Nashville performance. Unlike the performance (in which Taylor sported a shimery gold dress), the Noble Jones-directed video showcases the song as the bittersweet, rearview-mirror-obsessed lament that it is. As she told Sway on MTV, watching the video is painful: “…the first thing that you think of is the moment that inspired the song, which is that excruciating, awful moment when you run into an ex for the first time.” But hey, at least no one tied her to railroad tracks this time.
