With American Idol now over for the season, the eyes of viewers needing a reality singing competition fix are now turned to The Voice. NBC kept the promo for its new hit series up by trotting coach Christina Aguilera onto Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, where the pop diva discussed, among other things, being an arcade game nerd, the fact that she doesn’t drive and her three-year-old son Max’s tendency to warn others “Don’t touch my mommy!” While discussing Max, Aguilera told Kimmel, “I took him to the studio the other day, I was recording back in the studio again.” Xtina first mentioned recording a new album in Los Angeles last month while chatting with Jay Leno on the Tonight Show.

This coming week will bring the final battle round on The Voice, after which the coaches will have their respective four team members compete for America’s votes. So far Xtina’s team consists of Frenchie Davis, Beverly McClellan and Raquel Castro.

But it was all light-hearted fun on Kimmel last night, with no mention of the upcoming battle between her team members Lily Elise and Cherie Oakley.
