Four days after slimmed-down rock act Paramore announced they would be unveiling a new tune, along comes a 30-second clip of “Monster,” a single from the forthcoming Transformers: Dark Of The Moon soundtrack. Hear the scary new track below.
Paramore, of course, are no stranger to crafting tunes for feature films. One of their biggest hits, “Decode,” arrived three years ago on the Twilight soundtrack.
“I’ll stop the whole world, I’ll stop the whole world from turning into a monster,” Hayley Williams declares on the chorus of “Monster.”
And maybe the song’s harder edge — or, harder than their last radio hit “The Only Exception,” at least — is a bid to show listeners that the band can still rock since the departure of band members Josh and Zac Farro last December.
“Monster” will be released June 7 with the full Transformers soundtrack following on June 14.
Are you digging what you’ve heard so far from the newest Paramore offering?

I enjoyed the preview. I’m just so glad that they’re bringing something out this year. The three member that are left were always my favourite. Josh and Zac always looked out of place and that post on blogger was a low blow from people who claim to be so holy. Everybody knew something was up. They would even look at each other and nod their heads in the direction of Hayley like they were making fun of her. It happen during one of their last performances where that box (I’m not sure what it’s for, either mic or ear piece) fell off and she was trying to tuck it back. It wasn’t the first time. Or looking back, how Josh would move away when Hayley was on his side of the stage. It’s better that they left. Paramore will be a better band for it. They can finally have some real fun. It’s just weird that they complain about being away from their families and suddenly form their own bands. Don’t they realize if they’re successful they will have to tour.
