We adore Rachel and Finn and Kurt as much as anyone, but sometimes we adore the complicated love/hate relationship we have with New Directions troublemaker Santana just a little bit more. Still, we’re surprised to learn that it’s short-shorts-lover Naya Rivera who’s the latest Glee star to go solo (thanks to an album deal with Columbia Records), following in the footsteps of the glowing Matthew Morrison and pipe dreamer Mark Salling. The “other team player” has already tugged our heartstrings this season by confessing her love for Brittany, and her exotic looks have definite potential for success away from the Fox hit.
In honor of this happy news, let’s have another listen to a couple of Santana’s shining moments on Glee, shall we?
Are you into Naya Rivera as a solo artist too?
I could see her as the next ‘Amy Winehouse’ and being able to make it. Hopefully without the drugs and alcohol bringing her down.
She has a good tone to her voice and on pitch but not really that great a singer, she is singing it too flat(no color) with no really vocal techniques and using her tone to try and carry the song. It the extra color that most people don’t even notice that gets people to listen to a song over and over to make it a hit.
I am so buying this.
I imagine at some point they’d all get a record deal. Especially the black girl.
Glee is going to be the new Mickey Mouse Club or the Brit School.
