For whatever reason, Top 40 radio in the States has chosen to ignore Avril Lavigne for the most part with regards to Goodbye Lullaby. Was it the use of the H-E-double-hockey-sticks word in lead single “What The Hell” that turned virgin-eared programmers off? At least that song charted at #11 on the Hot 100 and went Platinum. Second single “Smile” has yet to even dent the chart, despite it’s upbeat, colorful video. Catch Avril performing the Max Martin and Shellback co-production on German game show Schlag Den Raab.
