Justin Bieber & Taylor Swift Win, Ludacris Performs At Offbeat CMT Awards

If country sweetheart Carrie Underwood’s performance of “Walk This Way” with legendary rock bad boy Steven Tyler at the Academy Of Country Music Awards in April wasn’t proof enough that Nashville knows how to throw a highly entertaining curve ball, perhaps Jason Aldean’s team-up with Ludacris at last night’s CMT Music Awards will convince you? Or maybe Justin Bieber’s win for Collaborative Video (for the Rascal Flatts-featuring “That Should Be Me”)? Or how about Lady Antebellum covering Prince? Catch the list of CMT Award winners and Aldean, Ludacris and Lady A’s performances below! Kid Rock hosted the 2011 CMT Music Awards at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Quantity-wise, The Voice coach Blake Shelton walked away the big winner — he was the only artist to snag two awards last night.

Sadly, neither Kelly Clarkson or Adele won for their collaborations with Jason Aldean and Darius Rucker, respectively. That might have been just a little too off the beaten path.
