Fellow The Voice coaches Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera have teamed up for the collaborative Maroon 5 single “Moves Like Jagger.” Given pop-rock band’s involvement, it’s a surprisingly electro-tinged jam — but we’re not complaining! Shake it to the addictive new song below.
With its whistling melody and disco guitar riffs, “Moves Like Jagger” slightly echoes the Rolling Stones’ chart-topping 1978 classic “Miss You.” M5 make it a totally modern dance track, however, with throbbing synths and what sounds like electronic drums. Even Adam Levine’s voice is distorted via Auto Tune on the chorus.
It takes a full two minutes and 15 seconds for Christina’s soulful pipes to being trilling on “Moves Like Jagger.” But once she does, she immediately steals the show.
“You wanna know how to make me smile, take control, own me just for the night / and if I share my secret you’re gonna have to keep it,” Aguilera warns. (Catch the full set of saucy words at Direct Lyrics.)
Is it just us, or is this the best thing from either of these two in years?
As mentioned last week, Adam and Xtina are set to perform “Moves Like Jagger” on The Voice tonight. The single will then be made available on iTunes. Do you plan on purchasing this energetic meeting of the pop minds?

I like it, but I guess I was expecting Christina to be in it a lot more. She needs to release a new, better album like Back to Basics again.

My fave Xtuna duet is “Nobody Wants To Be Lonely” with Ricky Martin. This one will do, though, since Adam is beyond f***able.
This works really well it show cases both there vocals fabulously and while Christina’s verse feels like a tease it keeps you coming back for more. This song is phenomenal its the perfect combination.
In a year where Beyonce, Britney and Gaga have released songs, leave it to the fire packed combo of Maroon 5 and Xtina to deliver the biggest punch. Bravo!
This song is off the wall! Adam Levine truly impresses here. And Christina Aguilera’s subdued vocals remind us of how good she sounds when merely humming. ;)
