Carry-on? Check. Boarding pass? Check. Performance by the most killingest pop star on the planet? Bonus! Lucky, lucky travelers flying in or out of New York City’s JFK Airport yesterday were treated to the one and only Robyn performing for passengers and contest winners at JetBlue’s Terminal 5! Of course, Idolator was front and center to hang with one of our very favorite artists as she performed a six-song set comprised of perfect pop hits from her 2005 self-titled LP and last year’s impressive Body Talk (one of our 2010 faves). Make sure your seat is in the upright and locked position, then head below for to find out what went down at the show.

“I spend a lot of time in airports, but I never perform in them. This is my first time,” Robyn said as she emerged in a jacket over a body suit, as well as some very high platform shoes that gave the Swedish pixie a little extra lift during her set. (She had no trouble busting out her one-of-a-kind dance moves in them, however.) After kicking off the concert with “Indestructible,” the queer-friendly diva also delighted with Body Talk treasures “Call Your Girlfriend,” “Dancing On My Own,” and a slowed-down “Hang With Me,” as well as a couple treats from 2005’s Robyn —”Be Mine” (which was recently dusted off by Rye Rye) and an uplifting encore performance of “With Every Heartbeat.”

The one-take wonder tweeted this photo as she awaited her set before she jetted off to London (via JetBlue, we’re betting), along with the following: “Im at the jet blue terminal, this is my ticket to Rakamonie land.”

So was a chance to see a fairly intimate show (despite the airport setting) by Robyn worth removing shoes, ridding ourselves of liquids, and getting frisked by security? Absolutely! In fact, we felt so transported during the set, it was like we really had just returned from a vacation. Naturally, Robyn brought her infectious enthusiasm and charismatic stage presence as always (unlike some of her contemporaries), charming both hardcore fans and weary passersby who quite possibly had never heard of her before.

Up next: Robyn continues to open for Katy Perry on her California Dreams tour, which hopefully will continue to earn her an ever-widening audience of fans who adore her heartfelt dance tunes.
