Screen legend Marlene Dietrich provided the inspiration for Beyonce’s July L’Uomo Vogue cover shoot, and now a behind-the-scenes video of the “Best Thing I Never Had” diva’s day on the set for the mag has been unveiled. “She was able to deliver emotions nonstop, from the first picture to the end,” photographer Francesco Carrozzini praises in the clip. “And for this I have to thank her, because I just clicked and I captured her.” Watch 4 songstress Bey shoot her spread for the Italian men’s magazine below. The video begins with a glammed-up Beyonce posing while the following Dietrich quote sets the stage for the photo shoot:

“Writers, composers, painters — also like directors and actors fall into the same category. They have to be handled with kid gloves, mentally and physically.”

L’Uomo Vogue is just one of the many publications whose covers Bey adorns: check out her out on W, Cleo and Essence.
