If you’re finding Beyonce’s 4 to be a little too bogged down with ballads and midtempo numbers (though how could you? It hasn’t been officially released yet, and there’s no way you’d procure it any other way but legally, right?), you’ll be pleased as punch to listen to “Schoolin’ Life”, one of the three bonus tracks on the deluxe edition of her fourth album. After handing out degrees to myriad girls during her performance on Oprah, Professor Knowles is sharing life advice on this fiesty, Prince-inspired track. Listen to The-Dream-produced 80s-sounding tune below to get schooled by Bey.

Beyonce – “Schoolin Life”

Beyonce’s class includes 20-somethin’s, 30-somethin’s, 40-somethin’s, sexy-somethin’s and little somethin’s, and though she admits she’s not a teacher, preacher or doctor, the pop star shares what she’s learned over the years, including these life lessons:

“Time really moves fast.”

“That body ain’t always gonna get you out of everything.”

“Stop living in regret, it’s not over yet.”

“Don’t stop running until it’s finished — it’s up to you, the rest is unwritten.”

“Make your life what you decide / Baby, party til the Fire Marshall shut this sucker down.”

We definitely agree with that last one.

This funky track is one of the catchier upbeat songs Bey has put out recently — do you hope it gets the single treatment?
