Rolling Stone took it upon themselves to compile data betwixt a Madge-less group of sixteen female pop stars to find who is currently holding the throne as Queen of Pop. And by comparing and contrasting Album Sales, Digital Sales, Social Networking, Touring, Awards and hits on the Hot 100 between 2009 and 2011, they’ve found Her Majesty. Gaga has been named current Queen of Pop in the years 2009-2011 in a study conducted by Rolling Stone!
They kind of gave up credibility from the start by including Taylor Swift.
Well, she doesn’t make pop music in the sense that Katy or Rihanna or Madonna make pop music, but country-pop still counts. That said, poor Robyn! She should be much, much higher. Can she be a Duchess of Pop?
I think the Rolling Stone article is garbage. Madonnna obviously is the Queen of Pop. You can’t give someone that title who has been in the music industry for three years. I makes no sense. In order for an artist to have that title, you have to be around for a very long time. Plus, you have to be a legend, an icon. MADONNA=QUEEN OF POP.
I’m just happy Kelly made it in the top list of females. Kinda surprised her numbers are high enough.

If Justin Timberlake had dared to accept the crown as King of Pop while Michael Jackson was still alive he would have been mocked and criticized by fans and critics. Even to this day Jackson is still universally regarded as the King of Pop.
How dare Rolling Stone declare Lady Gaga the Queen of Pop, and how dare Lady Gaga not turn down the honor. Like Michael Jackson Madonna has many personal failings, but she is universally acknowledged as the Queen of Pop.
Madonna earned the title of Queen of Pop by releasing many chart-topping albums, her singles ruled the radio in the 80s and 90`s. Although Madonna may no longer top the singles charts, her tours always sell out. In the 80`s thousands of Madonna wannabes dressed like their idol. You don`t see any teen girls wearing meat dresses to school, nobody in her right mind wants to look like Lady Gaga.
The title of Queen of Pop isn`t a title you bestow on an artist after only one or two hit albums, a pop singer must earn the title by producing superlative music over a long period of time.
Lady Gaga intended her latest album “Born This Way” to be her magnum opus, she predicted it would be the album of the decade. It turns out Lady Gaga is a lousy artist and a lousy psychic. Considering how much Lady Gaga hyped “Born This Way”, it`s one of the biggest bombs in history. The album was lambasted by critics, and it`s quickly sinking in the charts.

Rolling Stone Mag really bombed this one. Gaga has nothing on Madonna. Did they let a newbie in to write his or her first article to attract a younger reading audience? Maybe they thought it would be good for publicity of their own?
Madonna is like MJ, you can’t compare her to anyone anymore…she is truely in a class of her own. The real interesting part is she is back in the studio recording without a label hovering over her. This album could be something all these wanna-be ‘artists’ or identity thieves should be on the watch for. It could launch Madonnna’s status as Pop Royalty even further or it could be forgotten…we all know how much the USA DJ’s hate giving her airplay. Maybe they’ll smarten up this time.

Rolling Stone just made a real fool of themselves. Announcing the title of Queen of Pop for a period of two years? It’s a joke! No one becomes Queen of Pop within a two year time frame.
