With Beyonce currently topping the album chart with 4 and Kelly Rowland riding high with her hit “Motivation,” destiny has been fulfilled now that our friends at Concrete Loop have premiered “Love Gun,” the upbeat new dance-pop buzz single from Michelle Williams. Squeeze the trigger below!
Fans of Michelle’s 2008 album Unexpected and, especially, her club smash “We Break The Dawn” will hear a common thread in synth-heavy new jam “Love Gun.” And is anyone else getting a strong Erasure-meets-ABBA vibe from the middle eight breakdown in this Druski-produced tune?
“My album will be ‘inspirational pop’,” Williams told Concrete Loop when asked about the material she’s been working on. “Think of Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ or Natasha Bedingfeld’s ‘Unwritten.’ I want to give people a message of hope while at the same time get them moving with dance inspired tracks.”

The site notes that Williams is currently recording with Jim Jonsin and Rico Love. The first official single from upcoming LP should arrive around August or September, with the album following this winter.
Do you think “Love Gun” has a, ahem, shot at success?

Love it! Reminds me a little or Robyn’s current sound and maybe a little of Stuart Price’s touches on Kylie’s “Aphrodite” album (the twinkling).
Oops, OF not OR.
What the heck is this? I at least give her credit for trying!!
I love Michelle’s new song, I made a video for it today and it’s already featured on Popdust.com from posting earlier this afternoon. Check out my video on YouTube…

love her but this sucks……..she’s so monotoned…..shed to add some dimensions to her voice…….high and low ranges…..however this may work for her in Europe but American aint buying!!!!
I don’t like to be a negative Nellie but… Michelle Williams is a good dancer and a great sport, but she’s just a rather dreadful singer. Until Kelly (who is a fantastic singer) gets material worth her skills and Solange (who is also a fantastic and fascinating performer) gets her day in the sun, I’m not really into Michelle’s attempts at a solo career.
