Hear Lil Wayne Apologize On New Track, “Tunechi’s Back”

Lil Wayne is probably just as frustrated as his fans are with the ever-delayed release of his ninth studio album, Tha Carter IV. But to tide us over — or maybe to further whet our appetite — the Young Money rapper will drop the new reassuringly-titled mixtape, Sorry 4 the Wait, next Wednesday (July 13). Hear the first track after the jump.

The compilation will feature Weezy rhyming over beats you probably already know and love, like on “Tunechi’s Back,” which borrows Meek Mill and Rick Ross‘s “Tupac Back” production. Backed by that steady, almost sinister beat, Wayne acknowledges, “Wish I could take a shot of Ciroc with ‘Pac/ Sorry for the wait till my album drop.”

Tha Carter IV is scheduled to hit — fingers crossed — August 29.

Based on “Tunechi’s Back”, is he really? Let us know you like it more than the original “Tupac Back” on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments below.
