Wow…the music industry is really in a sad state if the “Sounds Like” is true. Is no one trying to be original anymore?
Human beings are associative creatures and “sounds like” is a helpful way of describing a new artist to someone. Besides, within a genre of music there are by definition certain commonalities shared by the artists and music within it. I don’t think these artists are consciously attempting to copy anyone else’s sound (that usually only works when you’re already a star and you want to copy someone unknown) any more than we learned English by copying our parents.
Oh so in other words, more one hit wonders. Cool.
“Go! Pop! Bang! was originally scheduled for release in 2009, but was shelved. No release date has been set yet.”
And she’s on your “about to pop” list for 2011?
Fail. Rye Rye is over. Everyone knows it.
I love me some Katy B!
I wouldn’t consider touring with Katy Perry being “over”. She’s got loads of talent, and catchy singles. She can do well commercially if she makes the right moves. I know I’m buying the album as soon as its available.
What ever happened to the days of Rock & Roll?! “Artists” these days are products of a machine that’s only purpose is to make money and sell music. Although there are a few truly talented artists who have found where the control room is. Lady Gaga is a great example of how to make the pop music machine bow to you.
Ha, this article is exactly what’s wrong with the music industry, terrible.
The best! I lover her!
OMG I have always thought and called Wynter Gordon the Donna Summer of our time. She is very talented. Can’t wait for her to blow up. :) I LOVE YOU WYNTER! :)
