Usher — along with President of MTV Networks Music and Logo Group Van Toffler and President of MTV Stephen Friedman — rang in the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange in celebration of MTV’s 30th birthday this morning. Isn’t it ironic that the once alternative network is commemorating its third decade on Wall Street of all places? When asked how the channel keeps from looking so young (not a day over 24, we say!), Toffler explained, “We decided not to grow old with our audience… So as our audience aged up, we said goodbye to them and we embraced everything that was new and innovative.” Jersey Shore watchers, this will one day be you, too.
