This Monday, Katy Perry will release a remix of “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” featuring a rap verse from none other than Missy Elliott. Much like Perry’s Kanye-assisted “E.T.”, we really don’t think this song needs a rap interlude, but then again — Missy! This should adequately propel Elliott back on the charts as she prepares her new LP, and should help Katy secure that record she so desperately wants. [Via Billboard]

Heard the remix. It really needed to be remixed that it contained a more techno feel to it. After Missy does her second part, it sounds more remixed and the song should have been changed up a little. But if this is what it takes to get Last Friday Night to #1, then so be it. I hope it makes it.
