Lady Gaga To Perform At MTV VMAs

We hope MTV is researching how to quickly scrub stage blood out of the carpets, as it has just been announced that Lady Gaga will be performing at the VMAs. Will the pop star perform a Born This Way medley? Dress up like Jo Calderone again? Bring another crazy piano on stage? Unknowingly lift another element of Bette Midler’s act? We honestly have no idea what to expect with this woman, which is why we can’t wait to see what ridiculous delirium she brings to the festivities.

The singer, who in nominated for four moon men, joins Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Adele, Bruno Mars and Young The Giant on the growing list of performers. Gaga’s appearance at the show may throw more fuel on the fire that she will take part in a star-studded Britney Spears tribute, but those reports remain unconfirmed.

Gaga, who premiered her gender-and-species-bending video “You And I” yesterday, will appear live on Thursday August 18 on MTV and LOGO for “MTV First: Lady Gaga,” in which she will officially make her VMA announcement and tease her promo for the awards show. (Could this be a preview of the promo?) She will also appear on a live Q&A immediately following the special.

Get pumped up for Gaga’s performance on August 28 by watching Mother Monster’s first bloody good number at the music awards back in 2009, performing her The Fame single “Paparazzi”.
