Lady Gaga And Beyonce Are Powerful Women, Claims ‘Forbes’

Beyonce isn’t the only girl running the world. Forbes released their annual list of the world’s most powerful women, and only two pop stars made the cut: Beyonce came in at #18, and her “Telephone” and “Video Phone” partner Lady Gaga came in at #11, listed as the world’s most powerful female entertainer. (Actually, she’s still the world’s most powerful entertainer, male or female.)

The rankings were based on several factors. When it came to Gaga, whose yearly salary is at $90 million, Forbes was impressed by her social media power, as well as her promotional deals with Google, Zynga, Gilt and Backplane. Plus, the sales of her VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipgloss with MAC have raised over $200 million to fight AIDS.

As for fellow Best Female Video nominee, Beyonce can boast a $35 million salary, and earns props for being one of the best-selling musicians of all time. She also has 16 Grammys to her name, and as if she wasn’t busy enough, helps run the House Of Dereon fashion line with her mother, Tina Knowles.

Let’s not start a fan war now about who’s bigger or better than who — let’s just celebrate the fact that both extremely powerful pop gals landed in the Top 20. Way to go, ladies!
