Taylor Swift Covers Gwen Stefani And The Beach Boys In L.A.

We were so caught up in the excitement of Taylor Swift’s surprise duet with Justin Bieber on Tuesday night at L.A.’s Staples Center, we nearly forgot to mention the pop starlet’s on-going geographical portion of her concert. For the possible Joe Jonas collaborator’s ode Los Angeles, T-Swift picked two very different musical representations of Southern California (neither song matching our prediction). Below watch the “Sparks Fly” songbird as she covers native Gwen Stefani’s “The Sweet Escape” and The Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows”.

“I think of so many things when I think of California, but I think of amazing music when I think of the top 5 things that come to mind. You guys have amazing musicians that come from here,” the Speak Now singer said before kicking off her set.

Given the 21-year-old’s uber-fascination with marriage, we’re surprised Taylor didn’t opt for Brian Wilson’s “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”. And personally, we would have preferred an early No Doubt track like “Sunday Morning” over one of Gwen’s solo hits. Tell us your thoughts below.
