Madonna Directly Addresses Hydrangeagate With “Love Letter” Video

Much furor was caused when Madonna expressed herself and dissed a fan/journalist’s hydrangea gift to her at the Venice Film Festival the other week, without realizing the whole thing was caught on video. But perhaps Madge, who is prepping a new album for a spring 2012 release, wasn’t quite satisfied with her rep’s statement on the incident (“…she didn’t want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world “) — because now the Material Girl has gone and made a comical video stating that she will “always hate” the flowering plant. Watch below! Set to an Italian, Godfather-esque tune, Madge’s video plays like an old silent film. “If I could take back my words I would but I can’t, so what am I left with?” the “Hung Up” diva asks.

Then she drops the F bomb by stating, “It’s a free world so f**k you, I like roses,” and stomping on a bundle of hydrangeas.

You honestly didn’t think Madonna was going to behave like a delicate, uh, flower through this whole viral video controversy, did you?
