The 2011 MTV European Music Awards will return to the UK once again when the event is televised from Belfast, Ireland’s Odyssey Arena on November 6. Unlike with the recent MTV Video Music Awards (where she was virtually overlooked, nominations-wise — though still very visible throughout the night), Lady Gaga leads the nominees this year, with recognition in six categories (including Best Song, Best Female, Best Video and Biggest Fans).
Katy Perry’s “Firework,” the Video Of The Year winner at the VMAs, is up for Best Song, while the singer herself is also nominated in the Best Live, Best Female and Best Pop categories. Like Katy, Bruno Mars is up for four awards at the EMAs.
And once again, actual European artists are few and far between with this year’s MTV European Music Awards nominees, save for Adele (UK), Coldplay (UK), Justice (France), David Guetta (France) and a few others.
Those wishing to vote for their faves can do so here.

Lame. Barely anything European about it.
I’m real glad they included On the Floor. That was totally snubbed at the VMAs.
And once again, the MTV European Music Awards prove why they’re largely irrelevant. Why call it a European show when you lavish nominations upon American artists?
